The 42mm version of the first generation Planet Ocean doesn’t approach this level of thickness at 14.5mm-thick, but the 45.5mm model is a hefty 17mm-thick. I alternate between this and the Seamaster 300 Master-Coaxial on a NATO. As Cedargrove said: Proportions - the 45.5mm just looks better to me in terms of thickness to diameter ratio. This was a major deciding point to me. The 42 looks like a quadruple stuffed oreo. I wear my 45.5 on a bracelet because I like how the weight of the bracelet balances the weight of the case.Planet Ocean is rated to an impressive 600 metres, compared to 300 metres with the SMP.
