The dial, also in green ceramic has a more matte finish, with a laser-engraved wave pattern. Compared to the watches worn by Pierce Brosnan in the Bond films, the modern (2018) version of the Seamaster Diver 300M features refinements and upgrades such as a more conically shaped crown for the helium release valve, ceramic dial and bezel and a larger wave pattern on the dial. The dial is now a Zirconium Oxide ceramic polished to a high shine and laser engraved with a more minimal set of waves. The date is now down at 6 o’clock and printed on a date wheel that matches the dial. Now, Omega is using a sandwich dial with a luminous-coated base plate and a perforated top layer with cutouts for the numerical hours. As usual, most displays glow blue in the dark, but the minute hand and corresponding zero point on the rotating dive bezel stand out in green.
